The Role
As a Cyber Security Consultant, you will work closely with clients to assess cyber risks, develop security strategies, and deliver consultancy services that align with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
You will act as a trusted advisor, helping organisations navigate an increasingly complex threat landscape while contributing to the development and growth of the consultancy's service offerings.
This position offers the opportunity to work with a diverse portfolio of clients, influence security strategy at a senior level, and help drive the future direction of a growing cybersecurity practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver cyber security consultancy services across a range of client engagements.
- Operate within established regulatory frameworks, industry standards, and security best practices.
- Develop strategic security solutions and contribute to the design of security programmes and initiatives.
- Advise clients on cyber security risks, governance, compliance, and risk management activities.
- Guide organisations through security assessments, improvement programmes, and security transformation initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted security advisor.
- Identify opportunities to enhance existing security services and develop new consultancy offerings.
- Research emerging cyber threats, industry developments, and security technologies.
- Produce high-quality security documentation, reports, risk assessments, and recommendations.
- Support business growth through thought leadership and client engagement activities.
Required Skills & Experience
- 8+ years of experience in Cyber Security Consultancy, Security Leadership, or a related cybersecurity role.
- Strong understanding of cyber security frameworks, governance, risk, and compliance.
- Experience working within highly regulated environments, ideally banking, financial services, or fintech.
- Proven ability to develop and deliver strategic security programmes and solutions.
- Experience advising senior stakeholders on security risks and mitigation strategies.
- Strong knowledge of current cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and security best practices.
- Excellent written communication skills with experience producing professional reports and client-facing documentation.
- Strong stakeholder management and client relationship skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple engagements and priorities.
Desirable Skills
- Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor, or equivalent.
- Experience with security architecture, cloud security, and modern security technologies.
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks including ISO 27001, NIST, PCI DSS, FCA requirements, or similar.
- Previous experience within a consultancy or professional services environment.
- Experience developing and launching security service offerings.
