The Role

As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you will be responsible for gathering, analysing, and interpreting complex business data to support decision-making across the organisation. Working closely with stakeholders from multiple departments, you'll develop reporting solutions, dashboards, and analytical models that drive operational efficiency and business growth.

This role offers the opportunity to influence key business decisions while working in a fast-paced and highly collaborative retail environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyse, and interpret complex datasets to deliver actionable business insights and recommendations.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance data models, dashboards, reports, and analytics solutions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to understand requirements and deliver data-driven solutions.
  • Work closely with IT and data teams to ensure data quality, integrity, governance, and security.
  • Identify trends, patterns, and opportunities within data to support business improvement initiatives and risk mitigation.
  • Create and maintain technical and business documentation for reporting solutions and data models.
  • Participate in project planning, requirements gathering, solution design, testing, and implementation activities.
  • Support the continuous improvement of BI processes, reporting capabilities, and data visualisation standards.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience working as a Business Intelligence Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets.
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL and the Microsoft data stack.
  • Strong experience with Power BI and data visualisation best practices.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large datasets.
  • Experience with data modelling, database design, and reporting solutions.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working within FMCG, retail, or similar fast-paced commercial environments.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with Tableau or other data visualisation platforms.
  • Understanding of ETL processes and data warehousing concepts.
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies.
  • Exposure to Azure data technologies and cloud-based analytics solutions.
  • Knowledge of DAX, Power Query, and advanced Power BI development techniques.
